Throughout our construction process, we are careful to minimize the impact to natural vegetation. Our landscaping designs are very simple and consist of low water tolerant grasses and plants.

We add 4″ of topsoil to the areas where we lay Zoysia sod for a lawn and for native plant beds. Under the top soil is a layer of cedar mulch, which in most cases, we make onsite from home site clearing. The layer of cedar below the topsoil helps to hold water for the grasses and native plants to require less frequent watering. Zoysia makes an excellent lawn for our area due to its high draught tolerance. Zoysia requires little water to maintain a nice green yard for the majority of the year (see zoysia map).

The source of our landscaping water is the rain water collection system, so no ground water is required to maintain healthy plants.
